The video installation “Aqual Globalis” was presented for the first time at the Kunsthalle Ziegelhütte (Appenzell, Switzerland) in 2009.

The idea for this project developed from collaboration with Dr. Lorenzo von Fersen, the behavioural biologist of the Nuremberg zoo and chairman of the aquatic mammal protection organization Yaqu Pacha.

Sven Hoffmann was requested to produce a film drawing a visible connection between the figure of the dolphin and its natural habitat, the medium of water. The soundtrack was realized in cooperation with Jörg Hüttner and the Hans Zimmer-Studios in Hollywood.
